INFECTED WITH ANTIVIRUS 2010 -- CANNOT SEARCH, CANNOT SYSTEM RESTORE..?
I have Antivirus 2010 -- the virus! I cannot search because it redirects me. I cannot system restore because it only permits me to restore today. I've used Spybot, Malwarebytes, and my Norton, and they all simply delete ~things~ but it doesn't solve the issue AT ALL! The virus seemed to have "mutated" (aka made stronger) in the past few days. I've gotten it a few days ago and all I did was system restore and it went away. Now it seems all the "fixes" that I see don't do anything! It has completely possessed my computer. I am desperate as I NEED my computer and all its files, please help!

SYMANTECANTIVIRUS.MSI?
Windows installer keeps showing up and it says i need to find the folder containing this "installation package". But I can run system scans and everything, so i'm assuming it is properly installed - with the exception of this glitch. An answer to a similar question said that I should uninstall and then re-install. However, I am on my college's internet server, and they require an antivirus program or else I am not allowed on the internet (except on sites to buy my own antivirus program). So if I uninstall, keep in mind that I would not have access to the internet (or at least extremely limited)

QUESTION ABOUT FIREWALL AND ANTIVIRUS?
I have SBC (AT&T) internet service. They put a little icon in the tray below my desktop that has an exclamation point. Clicking on it it says my antivirus and firewall are not on. I also have Norton 360 which I've had continuously for a year and a half. Clicking on that icon, it says both firewall and antivirus are working. So, how do I know if they are working or aren't? Am I supposed to sync these two things together somehow? Any help is appreciated.
