CAN YOU MOUNT A CPU HEATSINK WITH FAN FACING UP?
i bought a antec 902 case and it has a very nice 200mm fan on the top. is it possible to mount any 3rd party heatsink on my motherboard so that the airflow faces upward towards the big fan?

SHOULD I GET A FAN OR A HEATSINK FOR MY CPU? WHAT SHOULD I LOOK FOR?
It's an AMD Phenom II 965, and I don't plan on overclocking it. My case only runs hot when the ambient temperature is already quite high, and even then it's not running excessively hot. My current CPU is also an AMD, a Athlon X2, and that has a fan. What would be better? What should I look for when buying either one? I'm also looking for a RAM heatsink, for DDR3 RAM. I'm not worried about noise at all - my case is pretty quiet - and I'm not looking to bring the CPU down under ambient temperature - I'd just like to keep it within a safe operating range. I've considered putting in a side intake fan (I have an Antec Sonata III case, so I can't put a front fan AFAIK) but it seemed like overkill to me. What would I look at in the case of an intake fan? How is the size measured? My current socket is AM2, but I'm changing the motherboard to an AM3 socket for the Phenom II CPU. I looked at some of the CPU fans on the site linked, and I can't see any that say they will fit an AM3. Would an AM2+ fan fit an AM3 CPU, or should I look for on specifically for AM3? Also, I have heard that some DDR3 RAM sticks come with a heatsink - does anyone know of any?
