Fireworks again
Fireworks again November 6th, 2008 by Chip Well that’s another night over, but these days it isn’t. I’m going to sound like Victor Meldrew to some, but I don’t care. Each year we have to endure firework night, but this is no longer restricted to just one night or even before 10pm. Firework night goes on for about two weeks along with other festivals sprinkled throughout the year, such as Chinese new year and the Hindu festival of lights Diwali. Fireworks now seem to be just military grade expl

Chinese Garden 2008
Last weekend, we brought the kids to Chinese Garden to see the lantern. Actually, we wanted to bring the kids to see the lantern the previous weekend, Mid-Autumn Festival, but both the kids fell sick that week. Since they are getting better, we decided to bring them to see the lanterns last Saturday. The kids were all excited that morning as they knew that they would be going out in the evening. We went out after the kids woke up from their afternoon nap. Had our dinner near to Chinese Garde

Lead Is Harmful To Your Physical And Mental Health
Like Kristen over at Lively Women, I’m not big on the Olympics. It’s not that I hate the Olympics; I just don’t care to watch them. I guess the reason is a mix of annoyances that’ve built up over the years. Sure, as little girls my best friend and I were mesmerized by the gymnasts, but as I got older the Olympics screwed with my regular daily programming, and then as I got even older I was out doing things that didn’t involve watching TV. So, I just never developed a taste for the Olympics.

More faking unearthed by Chinese during Olympic opening ceremony: First fireworks, now child singing.
Anyone who watched Friday’s spectacular Olympic opening ceremony from Beijing would probably agree what they saw was “unreal.” Turns out they would be right. First it was revealed that the Chinese officials–with the blessing of the Olympic Committee–faked part of the amazing fireworks that occurred during the ceremony. Now it has been revealed that the fakery didn’t stop there. As reported on Breitbart.com and Telegraph.co.UK, the show’s musical director has admitted that the darli

Chinese faked fireworks during Olympic opening ceremony.
Fearing it would be too difficult to capture each special effect fireworks “footprint” live during Friday’s Olympic opening ceremony, Chinese organizers faked the effect for millions of TV viewers and those watching on the big screens located inside the Bird’s Nest stadium, according to an online news report from Telegraph.co.UK. Early in the spectacular ceremony viewers watching around the world and on giant screens inside the Bird’s Nest National Stadium were dazzled by a series

Olympics Faux Fireworks: Computer-Enhanced Fakery Seen on TV
Fireworks Enhanced There’s a bit of PT Barnum in everybody: even the Chinese. The Opening ceremonies of the Beijing Olympics featured an impressive fireworks display. But what viewers in the worldwide TV audience didn’t know was that they were watching a computer-enhanced fireworks show. As the ceremony got under way with a dramatic, drummed countdown, viewers watching at home and on giant screens inside the Bird’s Nest National Stadium watched as a series of giant footprints outlined in f
