BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE on CAPITAL CHAOS 2008

BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE on CAPITAL CHAOS 2008 perform "Hand Of Blood" @ Arco Arena~Sacramento, California on the Taste Of Chaos 2008 Tour. Bullet for My Valentine (often shortened to BFMV or Bullet) are a four-piece Heavy Metal band from Bridgend, Wales. Originally known as Jeff Killed John, the band formed in 1998 and covered songs by Metallica and Nirvana. Financial difficulties marked a change in music direction and name for the band. Bullet for my Valentine were formed in 2002, and were offered a record deal by Roadrunner Records. The offer was turned down, and the band later secured a five album deal with Sony BMG. http://www.myspace.com/bulletformyvalent- ine Bullet for My Valentine's debut album The Poison was released on October 3, 2005 in the United Kingdom and February 14, 2006 in the United States. The album entered the Billboard 200 at number 128, and the Top Heatseekers chart at number 1, and has sold 375,000 copies in the U.S. as of February 6, 2008. The band made appearances at the Download Festival, Kerrang! XXV, and a United States tour with Rob Zombie, which the band were ultimately kicked off due to vocalist Matthew Tuck's comments on the band's message board. Bullet for My Valentine's second studio album Scream Aim Fire debuted at number 4 on the Billboard 200, with first-week sales of 53,001. http://www.bulletformyvalentine1.com/ Jeff Killed John was formed in 1997 by Matthew Tuck (guitar and vocals),Michael Paget (guitar and background vocals), Nick Crandle (bass guitar) and Vicreez {'Reez'} Hernandez (drums), while studying music at Bridgend College. Playing Nirvana and Metallica covers, the band released a two-track CD in 2002 produced by Greg Haver, and was called You/Play with Me. It was financed through the Pynci scheme for new Welsh musicians and the garnered the band radio airplay on live Radio 1's broadcast at Newport's T.J.'s. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bullet_for_- My_Valentine Their first name was "12 Pints of my Girlfriend's Blood" and then they changed it to "Jeff Killed John" and then to "Opportunity in Chicago". Jeff Killed John members wanted to follow the nu-metal trend set by bands such as Korn and Limp Bizkit — Bassist Crandle left the band on the eve of entering the recording studio. The band couldn't get it together to record a demo, and subsequently split up. But despite this, they did get back together and they found a new bassist in the shape of Jason 'Jay' James. As nu-metal had started to become less popular, the band gave it one final shot by changing their name to Bullet for My Valentine, a name which refers to the "fictional evil yet loving lyrical content". A change in music direction was agreed on, and the band played what they wanted to rather than follow the influential bands at the time. http://www.purevolume.com/bulletformyval- entinet Honors 4/18/2008 #85 - Most Viewed (Today) - Music - United Kingdom

Bullet For My Valentine: Suffocating Under Words Of Sorrow (Cover)

New Strings. New Band. Picked up some Fender Flatwounds today and decided to put up a new vid. "Suffocating Under Words Of Sorrow" Bullet For My Valentine. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suffocating_Under_Words_of_Sorrow_(What_Can_I_Do) FLATWOUNDS ROCK!!!! So Slick. So Smooth. And a rich tone to boot!!! Much better than the stock strings. These will work until my Steve Harris Rotowounds get here!!!!! This is a damn good band by my standards. I have heard "Words of Sorrow" from the Headbanger's Ball Revenge CD. Loved the song, so I picked up their CD "Poison" today. Every song on this CD is absolutely amazing. Pick it up when you can. Drop "D" Tuning. Couple flubs. Only played through it about 3 times. I stole a couple parts from the Guitar in the Intro and a couple other places. :D Another from the "Play By Ear" Series. MORE FROM THESE GUYS FOR SURE!!!!!! P.S. The hardware is as follows: Guitar: Squier P-Bass Amp: Fender Rumble 15 Strings: Fender 9050's Stainless Steel Flatwounds Got the package deal from my local music store for about 300. Pretty good deal for an entry-level bass.

CCVS141 ATREYU "Ain't Love Grand"

CCVS141 ATREYU "Ain't Love Grand" Atreyu is a five-member band from Orange County, California that formed in 1998. The band consists of vocalist Alex Varkatzas, guitarists Dan Jacobs and Travis Miguel, bassist Marc McKnight and drummer and vocalist Brandon Saller. The band was originally named "Retribution" but later changed their name to "Atreyu" after the character from the fantasy movie The Neverending Story of the same name (suggested by a friend, Scott Lloyd) when they found out that another band from Hemet, California had been using their original name. They are currently set to co-headline the 2008 Taste Of Chaos Tour with Avenged Sevenfold and Bullet for my Valentine. http://www.atreyurock.com/ In 1998, Atreyu released an independent 7-track EP titled Visions. The album was sold at their live performances. Their second release, Fractures in the Facade of Your Porcelain Beauty was a short 5-track EP released by underground label Tribunal Records and featured tracks that would be re-worked in later releases. Atreyu signed with Victory Records in 2001, and their most critically acclaimed works would be to come from these releases. http://www.myspace.com/atreyurock In 2001, Atreyu signed with Victory Records, who were famous for signing young, upstart emocore and metalcore bands and making them successful, later releasing in 2002 their first full-length album Suicide Notes and Butterfly Kisses. The band also introduced another singer, Brandon Saller, the drummer, who would become more prolific in their later releases, but in this album, his parts were most confined to choruses, and only in certain songs at that. Atreyu's second album, The Curse, was released in 2004, selling 300,000 copies. Atreyu was then featured on the soundtrack to the film Mr. and Mrs. Smith with a cover of Bon Jovi's "You Give Love a Bad Name". In 2006, Atreyu released their third full-length LP, entitled A Death-Grip on Yesterday that helped further Atreyu's move towards the mainstream, with the hits "Ex's and Oh's" and "The Theft". The album was said to balance of Brandon Saller's melodic singing vocals and Varkatzas's aggressive screaming. The album was met with positive reviews though, as IGN called the album "A brief but potent hissy fit." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atreyu_(ban- d)
