Baltic Mud Wrap

This dark salve contains nutrients and minerals that are benefical to your body . Zen Living Episode “Baltic Mud Wrap” Nicole: Surrounded by the Scandinavian countries in northern Europe, the Baltic Sea has one of nature’s best defenses against skin damage. The slow decomposition of its material throughout its 30,000 year history is what gives the Baltic its ability to hydrate the skin and promote cell oxygenization. But you don’t have to go all the way to northern Europe to experience the benefits. We will bring the Baltic mud to you, on this episode of Zen living. This is Janine Manjarras and she is going to be giving me the black Baltic mud treatment. Hi Janine. Janine: Hi. Nicole: Can you explain the steps we are going to be going through really fast? Janine: I am going to dry brush your body first. It is a dry exfoliation, and then I will place you on the table, and place a small layer. A thin layer of mud over your body. Wrap you up in the plastic and the towels. And let you cook a little bit. And then it will be time to remove the mud and do a nice moisturizer all over your body. Nicole: So first you are going to brush me like a horse? Janine: Yes. And they are nice strokes, and this is to get the dead skin cells off. It also helps with circulation. Nicole: It feels pretty good to actually. Janine: You do it towards the heart to help with that stimulation. There is another technique you can use. You can also do the wet exfoliation, which is a cream exfoliator. As you see there is a slight red, pink tone to her body when you brush. It’s stimulating. Nicole: So this is where you turn me into a burrito? Janine: Yes. Nicole: What can I expect while laying down here? Janine: Um, just feel calm and confident that I am going to take care of you. And you just place a small layer of mud all over the body. And once again, this mud takes all the impurities out, clogged pours. People ask if it helps you lose weight, because a lot of body wraps do. And this actually helps the skin feel a lot smoother. It helps it tighten. How are you doing? Nicole: It feels good; it is really warm and soft. Where do you get it from? Janine: This actually comes from European fresh water. The mud is silts; it is organic as far as old rocks and dirt that have been mixed together. Nicole: So what is actually in it? Janine: There are vitamins, its vitamin A and all of the B’s. There is minerals; it is forty percent humic acid, which is part of an alpha hydroxyl acid. It has the jojoba oil in it. Peach, avocado, sunflower. Nicole: Would this be good for somebody who has rosacea or Psoriasis or eczema? Janine: Eczema, it would be really great for eczema or the Psoriasis, because it is all natural and it helps detoxify the body. I would say that it makes the eczema and the Psoriasis really smooth. Nicole: It is kind of opening my nasal passages which is cool because they have been stuffed. And it’s really soft and smooth. I can’t describe the feeling. It’s not like lotion, but it’s not gritty at all. It is nice to know that something that feels so good is actually really healthy for you. Janine: Nicole how are you doing? Nicole: I am great what do we do next? Janine: I am going to wrap your body. And this helps the mud penetrate and keep the heat in. You want to have a nice tight wrap; I am going to wrap you like a cocoon. I am going to put the towels over you that also helps keep the heat in. The next few steps would be to wrap her in the foil. And then I am going to place a cold stone on her forehead, and that helps center the body and keep the body cool. Nicole: As soon as you put the foil on it started to kind of warm up a bit in here. Janine: Mmm hmm, it will. You will be very warm and then the rock will help you cool and center. Now you are going to lie here for the next fifteen minutes so the mud will penetrate the body, penetrate the skin and make it feel a lot smoother. And then after that we will unwrap you and remove the mud with the warm towels. Nicole: The stone is actually very relaxing, the little pressure right there onto the center of your forehead. It really just takes all the worries away. Next time you visit your spa you might want to think about getting the black Baltic mud treatment for yourself, now that you know all its benefits, you might want to do some god for your own skin. I am Nicole Tomlinson, and from all of us at Zen Living thanks for watching. We will catch you next time, peace.
