World Record Kite
Guinness World Records announces that KiteShip Corporation has been awarded a world record. From Guinness: "A 420 sq meter (4521 sq ft) traction kite manufactured by KiteShip Corporation (USA) was used to propel an 8.5 tonne (18,740 lb) yacht near Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, in 6 december, 2004, the largest kite ever used to pull a vehicle of any kind."

まずは、10月30日（木）のことについて振り返っておきたいと思います。 10月30日（木）は、朝から濃い霧がかかり、風が無く、11:00頃には霧は晴れたものの、風が無い状態が続き、14:00少し前にようやくレース海面に向けて出艇していったようです。その時間からのレースですから、15:00頃から第1レースを行い、17:00頃に第2レースを終えて、10月30日（木）のレース日程を終了したようです。 その第1レース、第2レース、最初のレースからカウントして、第13レース、第14レースの結果については、以下の通りだったそうです。 Round 1: 1. Italy - Centro Universitario Sportivo Milano 2. Ireland - Cork Institute of Technology 3. USA - U.S. Naval Academy Sailing Team 4. Japan - Kobe University 5. England - Great Britain Solent University 6. Portugal

世界学生ヨット選手権が終わってしまいました・・・
今さらながら、Student Yachting World Cup (世界学生外洋ヨット選手権）が終わってしまいました・・・これが今の私の率直な気持ちです。あたらめて「Sywoc's Blog」を見ると、現時点で最も新しい11月3日（月）の記事のタイトルが、「SYWoC 2008 is over…」となっており、まさに同感です。 レース期間中の1週間は、「Sywoc's Blog」の更新や現地から届くメールにワクワクしました。時差もあり、また私のブログの更新のタイミングが悪く、加えて文章を書くのがあまり得意ではない私にとって、どのように書いていいやらという部分があり、ちょっぴり大変なところはありましたが、終わってみると寂しいものです。 これまで、神戸大学外洋帆走（クルージング）クラブはOBを2回（1人/年×2年）しか送り出していない、とても新しい、若いクラブ・サークルであり、そんなクラブ・サークルでありながら、今回、Student Yachting World Cup (世界学生外洋ヨット選手権）に参戦するという機会を得ることができました。 今後は、全日本学生外洋帆走
